The latest offerings from Ford’s Lincoln brand shows how the luxury brand is trying to differentiate itself from the ever-changing premium competition. Perhaps the best example of Lincoln’s renewed and distinctive character is the 2010 MKT crossover.
Based on the Ford Flex, the MKT is not merely a badge-engineered version of its Ford counterpart. Instead, the MKT looks completely different from the Flex, which may be a good thing or a bad thing based on your own perspective. Both vehicles have a distinctive shape and their profiles definitely combine crossover and wagon.
For those considering a wagon, a minivan, or a crossover, the Lincoln MKT should be on your list. At over 17 ft in length and weighing about 5000 lbs, the MKT is a hefty vehicle and is certainly capable of carrying passengers and cargo with ease. And compared with the Flex, the MKT is actually longer and heavier.

Exterior styling will appeal to some and repel others admits Ford Service Los Angeles. One of the most notable exterior features is the bold grille. It seems that the grille on the latest Navigator SUV was not the last consumers have seen of the behemoth grilles, but the MKT wears it well. The same oversized proportions are given to the MKT’s taillights and rear fascia as well.
Inside the instrumentation is retro, but Lincoln designers balanced a look that conveys luxury and utility equally. The instrument cluster is bright thanks to the bevy of LED lights, but some may find the brightness overwhelming.

One of the Lincoln MKT’s greatest strengths according to Denver used cars dealers is the available EcoBoost V6 engine with twin turbochargers. Power is immediate and smooth and the EcoBoost delivers on its promise of providing V8-like power. Even with turbocharging, consumers among New Jersey Lincoln dealers have noted that turbo lag is nonexistent. Even with all-wheel drive, loads of power, and a hefty curb weight, the Lincoln MKT still garners a 16 mpg city/22 mpg highway fuel rating which is fairly competitive.

For premium buyers looking for power and roominess with a bit of tech gadgetry, the MKT is worth a look, but Pittsburgh car loan specialists say the $49,995 base price will likely scare plenty of consumers away. So far reports have suggested that MKT sales have started off a bit slow, but the crossover is certainly an indication that the Lincoln brand is moving past its tendency to rebadge Expeditions and call it a day. Instead, Lincoln is beginning to offer products that are truly one of a kind.
