by Lincoln in the News on January 15, 2010

It seems all the brands in the Ford lineup were making plenty of news in Detroit this week. At the 2010 North American International Auto Show, the updated 2011 Lincoln MKX was on hand, showing off its fresh exterior styling, new technology, and more comfortable interior accommodations.

On the heels of the International Consumer Electronics Show where Ford released details surrounding the new MyFord and MyLincoln technology, the Detroit Auto Show allowed Lincoln to show off these technology even more. The 2011 Lincoln MKX will prominently feature this system as standard equipment as it helps to connect drivers with various in-car systems to allow for a simpler and safer way to stay interact with the vehicle and other on board devices.

Lincoln is not a brand that is known for comprising on luxury or innovative features, and the 2011 MKX is evidence of that philosophy. Among the technologies that come standard on this crossover include adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support, Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert, MyKey, Easy Fuel Capless Fuel-Filter System, MyLincoln, AdvanceTrac with RSC, and many others. This is the short list, but take our word for it that the MKX certainly doesn’t skimp on technologies for convenience, entertainment, and safety.

Under the hood of the 2011 Lincoln MKX is a 3.7-liter Durance V6, which features all new technology that helps it achieve more torque and more horsepower without sacrificing fuel economy. This engine will produce a staggering 305 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft of torque while still earning 25 miles per gallon on the highway. It’s also mated to a six-speed Select-Shift Automatic transmission which helps deliver smooth acceleration and efficiency.
